I was rather shocked when I received my notification letter from Arts Clayton today. Namely because of the photographs of mine that were selected by a jury to be entered into the contest.
Last year I submitted a total of four photos, the maximum number of entries allowed for submission, and when I received the letter found that two were selected. One of my photos won first place, which I was very pleased to hear. Not solely because I won a prize, but because my photographs went through a juried process and then were judged by different people. So that meant a lot to me.

To my surprise, the letter stated that the jury panel selected all of the works to be submitted into the competition! I was opening the letter and guessing at which two entries would be selected this year, not expecting that all would be.
The final show judges are said to be:
I am very excited about the contest and look forward to seeing all of the entries. My favorite part of any photography contest is not the prize announcements, but seeing all of the entries. I enjoy the inspiration and imagining what the photographer was thinking when they took the shot.Â
Should be fun!
