Thank you, Adobe Support

Posted in General Banter by dub

This is not solely a post regarding photography, but since there are a considerable amount of Photographers who use Photoshop, I thought I could get a way with a rant.

Adobe support is some of the worst I have had to deal with.

I don’t just use Photoshop at work, I rely on it. So when the simple tools do not function and I am unable to continue easily with a normal workflow, I get frustrated. Imagine working on an ad for an hour. You start to use the magic wand and for no reason, Photoshop crashes and your work is lost. That happened to me. Read more »

The Quest: Solo Show & Exhibit

Posted in General Banter, Happenings, Photography by dub

A goal of mine for 2008 is to enter a festival/show/exhibit and have a booth all to my own. I have been involved in festivals over the past year or so where I have shared space with other artists. This is primarily due to cost, but also, that odd feeling that my work could not stand on its own. I am going to put myself out there and try my hand at this, so the plans are in the works. I have been studying booth layouts and working on a new name for my photography.

Dubtastic is a name that I do not personally believe I can market locally. It is tough to explain the meaning very quickly and has also been branded toward a different audience. So I will be working on a new name, site, and marketing package, while still maintaining and pushing this blog.

Has anyone had their work in a solo show/festival type setup that can offer some helpful tips?

Let’s Boogie: A New Photography Book Project

Posted in Photography by dub

Boogie bookI got word today that one of my favorite photographers has another book in the works.  Every time I visit this photographers site I get excited, hungry, for new content.  I always want more.  The realism in the captures astonishes me and I find myself staring at the photos, wondering what it would have felt like to have been behind the lens as the picture was taken.

Some of his work shocks, but that is surely not why he takes it.  His work opens a door to another world that most people are afraid to visit.  Due to the book cover conent, I have placed it behind the fold, and opted to show another sample here.
