Let’s Boogie: A New Photography Book Project

Boogie bookI got word today that one of my favorite photographers has another book in the works.  Every time I visit this photographers site I get excited, hungry, for new content.  I always want more.  The realism in the captures astonishes me and I find myself staring at the photos, wondering what it would have felt like to have been behind the lens as the picture was taken.

Some of his work shocks, but that is surely not why he takes it.  His work opens a door to another world that most people are afraid to visit.  Due to the book cover conent, I have placed it behind the fold, and opted to show another sample here.

More behind the cut…

Sao Paulo by BoogieBoogie is finishing up the design on his next book project, to be printed by Upper Playground.  I purchased a signed copy of his first book venture entitled “It’s All Good“, which was worth every cent paid.  I see that the book has made it’s way over to Amazon as well, so it has obviously done well.

This next book, entitled “Sao Paulo” will be released some time in 2008, and will surely contain the same visual punch in the senses as did his first effort. This sophmore effort is not likely to be a flop, but more of his gritty, raw, real, urban style which captures a life that many will never know.  I love that Boogie is not afraid of putting his lens in front of real life and preserving it for others to see.  I look forward to a whole new set of printed inspiration and hope that there will be some signed copies available of this project.

I didn’t buy his first book (Im broke) but really wanted to see it. His pictures were always great to look at and make me want to get out and take more than I have.

His first book was extremely powerful, and I have no doubts his second will be equally, if not more visually compelling.
