Overnightprints.com

If you are anything like me, your budget for self-promotion and other marketing relating items is smaller than it should be, or perhaps non-existent. With that said, many of us turn to the internet in hopes of finding “that great deal” or wonderful company to swoop in and rescue us. While those companies are rare, what is plentiful are companies to chose from to evaluate. Over the past year I have used Overnightprints.com for a few projects and want to offer my thoughts for those who would like to try them but wanted to know what others thought first.

First, all of my reviews moving forward will be based on several categories, including usability of the overall company website, quality of the final product, pricing of the products/services, and finally, customer service and any related support needed. With that said, let’s move on with the review.

Usability: The Overnightprints.com site I found was extremely easy to use. Everything I needed was well “within reach” and only a few clicks away. User registration was quick and painless requiring only a minimal amount of time to get going. They provide templates for your projects which downloaded quickly and contained all of the information I needed in order to get them the file they required to go to print.

Quality: Over the past year or so, I have used Overnightprints.com to print 4 different sets of business cards, all with different design requirements. Some were plain business cards with a single front, some had rounded corners with full color front and back designs. Of those jobs they printed, one was incorrect. The one that was incorrect was really odd, in that, some of the cards were printed in all light blue, some light orange, and the other half of the order contained a large red ink smudge across the card front. I also received a card belonging to another customer. Still, this was 1 out of 4 which I figured was not too terribly bad. This botched job was also done during a big promotion so I chalked it up to “hey, they were real busy”. Had it been for a client of mine, and not my own cards which I was in no hurry for, I might have felt differently.

Pricing: Plain and simple, the pricing is affordable. I felt that 100 business cards, with rounded corners, full color front & back, full bleeds for about $25 US was not a bad deal to find. The shipping, however, was a different story. During the promotion, the shipping still cost $9.00+ which was a little high for my tastes. However, I was getting a big discount on the overall price so I didn’t mind too terribly much.

Service & Support: When things go well, Overnightprints.com is top notch. When they go bad, well, maybe not so much. It took 2 emails and a phone call to get a RMA for that one botched printing job. Their customer service was extremely polite, however, and did not waste my time on the phone. I was given clear instructions for the return. I received an email with the pre-paid UPS mailing label to affix to the cards for return. I still wonder why I had to return the entire job instead of keeping the cards that were usable (hopefully they recycle). I thought I would have to wait for them to review the order but the next day or so found the replacement order already in my hands. So the turn-around time was not bad. Hey, stuff happens, and once you get in touch with them, they seem like they want to do what they can to help. Which goes a long way, for me. I can go anywhere to get cards printed, but the service is key. To receive such excellent customer service on a botched $10 order of cards spoke volumes to me and is the main reason why I will continue to use Overnightprints.com.

Dubtastic Scoring:

  • Usability: 5 – No question, the site is too easy to use to give it anything less than a 5.
  • Quality:4 – The only reason this was not a 5 was because one of the orders was not correct. Otherwise, they would have been 5.
  • Pricing:4.5 – Even though they have low pricing, I dropped this down just a notch because of the shipping. I would love to see other, more cost-effective options available.
  • Service & Support:2.5 – Once I got in touch with them, they were great. I was disappointed that I submitted a contact through their site and never received an acknowledgment. Even after a second attempt a day later, nothing. Still, they have phone support, but I would have liked to have resolved it quicker and via email.

Overall Score:80%
