After Capture Magazine Review

If you have a subscription to Range Finder, then you might have caught wind of a similar magainze, After Capture.  While both cater to overlapping audiences, After Capture is unique in that it focuses on just what it says: after the capture.

Having had several issues of both magazines, I have thoroughly enjoyed each almost equally.  After Capture appeals to me as it covers tutorials and other digital resources, techniques, and tips on post-capture editing.  The digital darkroom days now have as strong of a foothold as ever and finding such jewels as After Capture is great as it puts you right in the middle of the action. Though they have sadly ignored their blog, the printed content is excellent.

Perhaps to be the greatest benefit is the practical and usefulness of the articles.  While there are some Photoshop tutorials that do nothing for me, there are many that offer not only a new and more effective way of accomplishing a certain effect, but they are instructionals that I can actually apply to my full-time position, freelance work, and personal creative outlets.

As for me, I obtained a free subscription to After Capture through Range Finder.  I had actually found a free subscription to Range Finder at one point.  In their advertising I saw a free subscription to After Capture.  All that was required was one of the numeric ID’s off of the mailing label!  Not bad at all.  If you have the chance, check out the site or pick up a copy.  It is well worth it.
