Posted in Tutorials by dubHey Dub, where’d all the old Photoshop tutorials disappear to? Good question. I was sifting through the site this weekend making some additional modifications to the look and feel and came across the tutorials folder. Read more »
Salute: Civil War Reenactments
Posted in General Banter by dubRecently I went to a local event here in Georgia which also featured Civil War reenactments. There is a swirl of controversy over the events lately. There is a group of people who feel that the reenactments represent racism and during this political year, there is another group who has contested the historical significance of the land itself. All that aside, I enjoyed being there as a photographer. Read more »
Photography & The Law: A Cop’s Perspective
Posted in General Banter by dub | Tags: badge, cop, flickr, harassment, illegal photography, law, legal photography, policeQuite obviously, i love photography. Not quite so obvious, I just to be a cop. Rather odd combination as some would see it, yet I feel it offers me a very unique perspective on photography, especially the legality of what and where photographers are allowed to be. I caught a recent Flickr post which sparked my interest and replied. I received a few emails thanking me for the information. Since it seemed helpful, I thought I would share it here. Read more »

If you have access to Photoshop Creative Magazine, snag the latest issue. On the bonus CD you can pick up some of my custom Photoshop Brushes.
In other news, I have also been contacted about my brushes being released in a 3D software application as well as the possibility of creating special brushes to be sold on another website. So stay tuned for those.
Lastly, I have been hard at work writing a new Photoshop tutorial on image post-processing and “derestoration”. The final image can be seen via my Flickr page here.
Blog: Watercolor Designs
Posted in Art News by dubLousiville based watercolor artist and teacher Judy Moore Mudd has recently launched a new blog. For those who are not already familiar with Judy’s work, you can check it at watercolordesigns.com. Wanting to enter the wide realm of artists who blog, she launched her own blog at blog.watercolordesigns.com. Judy has worked very hard on her art and it shows, especially since she now teaches classes in Kentucky. Having actually sat with her and sketched while she worked on a painting, I was amazed at how quickly she was able to compose and create.
Her blog is just getting started and she could use some encouraging words, so drop in a hit her up with friendlies.
Toy Camera Class
Posted in General Banter by dubFinally, I will have some class. Through a Flickr group, I found a class on toy cameras, namley the Holga. After burning through my first few rolls, a class would be a great experience and opportunity for me. There is room for about 10 folks, well 1 less because I am going, and the cost is low. The cost covers the class and 1 roll of film. I believe you get to develop the film there in the store. If you are interested, their contact information is below. If you are nearby the McDonough area, hit me up and we might be able to carpool. Or if you are too strange, you can follow behind me in your car and make funny faces the entire time.

First Day with the Canon 8800F
Posted in Reviews by dub | Tags: 120 Film, Canon, Canon 8800F, Canon Scanner, Develop Film, Holga, Medium FormatMy first few rolls of 120 film were dropped off at Wolf Camera. They had to send them off and it took a week to get them back. Three rolls with negatives and 1 set of prints ran about $35+. I scanned the prints but the quality was poor compared to what I could get by scanning the negatives directly. So, I bought a new scanner. Read more »
