HDR is Overdone

Noticing a jump in traffic on a particular image on my Flickr account, I found that one of the HDR images I created made it onto such a list. At first I was excited, until I started reading some of the comments.
Model Photography: Post-Process Guide

I am a little hesitant about labeling this as a tutorial as there are other sites that cover this method. It would perhaps be more appropriate to describe this as following me along my creative processing of an image. Basically, after processing several images from a recent model shoot and getting the usual images out the door, I then moved to do something a little bit different with some of the other images.
With this image, the model Zan J has an awesome serious look, but an even better smile. I want to play on that and bring in some vivid colors and show some movement and dynamics with the imagery. Model Shoot: On Set with South Atlanta Flickr Part II
Posted in General Banter by dub | Tags: flickr, ga, georgia, locust grove, model, model shoot, south atlanta flickrThe second attempt at a group model shoot in Locust Grove went pretty darn well, especially considering it marked only the 2nd time that the group had done something like this. This shoot was a collaboration between several people involved with various photography or art groups.
Everyone came together, volunteering their time selflessly. Julie arranged 2 models and a stylist and the folks behind Urban Photographix not only opened their doors to the group again, but did a great job in helping prep the location for a group of photographers. Dan Edwards, man, myth, and legend was kind enough to bring his lighting, as did Allison and David. Read more »
