I got word from one of my favorite photographers that he has a new project now available for consumption.  Those who know me know that one of my favorite photographers is Boogie.  I find his work compelling and high powered and have always enjoyed following his ability to capture real life.  So word of a new Boogie book was exciting and welcomed. 5 Things I Learned from My First Event Shoot

This weekend was my first foray into night/event photography and it proved nothing short of exciting.  As you may or may not know, I have been branching my freelance services out into the field of photography.  This was an interesting step in that direction and there was much to learn from the entire night.

To give a short explanation of the event, it was a Halloween party.  Perhaps party is a bit of an understatement.  Cover was $30 at the door and I was told 2,000 people came through that evening.  Being a Halloween event, everyone was dressed to the tilt in some of the most creative costumes I have seen in some time.  I was covering the event with 2 other photographers, friends of mine who were nice enough to offer the opportunity to me. After a recent workshop with Dean Zulich, I found some limitations with some of the lenses that I have.  So I saved up and bought some nice glass: the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8.

Snagged Two Awards from Arts Clayton

Photoshop Creative Issue 7

Posted in Press by dub | Tags: , , , , , ,

pcnl0807-cover_01.jpgYesterday I stopped by my PO box and saw that I had a package.  I was pleasantly surprised to find a copy of Photoshop Creative, Issue 7.  It seems that at least once a month I am contacted regarding my Photoshop brushes with inquiries on cover mounting them on a CD included in the magazines.  I am always pleased that someone would want to include them and it is also a treat to get the magazine back and flip through it.

This version of the magazine is distributed from the Netherlands.  So yes, I have no clue what it says and I have no way to translate the entire magazine.  But I have had my brushes published in Photoshop Creative several times and always found their magazine to be of top quality.  I enjoy the layout of the issue quite a bit.  Visit PhotoshopCreative.nl for more information.

If you are interested in some of the brushes, or other free resources such as textures, drop by my downloads section.
