As some of you know, my two year term as president of the Visual Artists Collective of Henry County, Inc. has drawn to a close this year.  In order to devote my time elsewhere, I have opted not to run again as an officer in the organization and have turned it over to another group of very qualified and talented people.  Without being the leader of the group, I felt more at ease about entering one of the competitions and was quite glad that I did when I learned the results.

At the Christmas with the Arts year end event I was awarded First Place in the Photography category.  Getting a nifty cash prize and cool ribbon was nice.  To top it off, I also was awarded People’s Choice or Best of Show.  The Best of Show was voted on by ticket holders who were at the event so that holds special meaning to me.  The image was the same one that recently won the Patron’s Award at the Arts Clayton photography contest.  The winning image is available on my Flickr page.
