I remember Denis Sibeijn and quite a few others made a big stink about it, and dA's first few responses were to quiet Denis and company, as opposed to removing the copyright infringing DD. I only keep renewing because I don't want to see the crap ads the few times a year I manage to make my way to dA. It's a shame because there a lot of great creative and artistic minds in that community. I've never seen any adverts like the ones you've screencapped (though I've seen stuff encouraging people to subscribe). It is quite nauseating.
