Marina Nightfall

On a trip to Sanford, Florida, I had really been wanting to try my hand at some photos of the old piers at night. They just captivate me. Since our car was already crammed full of stuff for our daughters, I really had no room for a tripod. So I just had to wing it.
Here is the final image:
How it was shot: Since I had no tripod, I needed something to support the camera. I had my D700 and Nikon 24-70mm lens sitting on the bulkhead. To support to lens, I just sat it on top of one of my Speedlights, which made a nice little stand. Settings were ISO200, 24mm, f/6.3, 30 sec. In post, I did a little crop of some brighter horizon lights on the left and then the cross processing treatment. In fact, here is the original image out of the camera:

Well done. Amazing you did that without the tripod. You need a bigger car or a trailer.
