This is a quick video from a South Atlanta Flickr model shoot held at our studio, Studio 42.  Just as the last video I put together, this was not compiled with any intentions of winning some filmmaker award, but merely to show some of the fun that we have at the monthly model shoots. For those of you who follow me on Twitter, Facebook, or Flickr, you probably already know about this.  My brother-in-law and I have been working for the past 2 months on opening a photography studio south of Atlanta in Locust Grove.  There are other studios in Atlanta and we had even visited one which we liked quite a bit.  However, after finding a killer deal on some space, and weighing out the travel and other expenses, it made more sense to do our own thing. As some of you know, my two year term as president of the Visual Artists Collective of Henry County, Inc. has drawn to a close this year.  In order to devote my time elsewhere, I have opted not to run again as an officer in the organization and have turned it over to another group of very qualified and talented people.  Without being the leader of the group, I felt more at ease about entering one of the competitions and was quite glad that I did when I learned the results. I got word from one of my favorite photographers that he has a new project now available for consumption.  Those who know me know that one of my favorite photographers is Boogie.  I find his work compelling and high powered and have always enjoyed following his ability to capture real life.  So word of a new Boogie book was exciting and welcomed. I attended the opening reception for the 5th Annual Arts Clayton Juried Photography Competition on October 2nd.  This is one of my favorite local photography competitions as it is usually well attended and just an all-around class act.  This year was no different.  I walked in the door with no real expectation of taking a prize home, so hearing my name called twice was quite a shock.

I received word last week that one of my City Hall East photos was selected as the winner for the Creative Loafing Flickr contest. Rarely do I win anything.  And by rarely I of course mean…never.  You can tell that I never win anything because I thought the mail was spam at first.

So this was a nice treat on a Friday afternoon.  I won a pair of tickets to see REM at Lakewood.
