Marina Nightfall

On a trip to Sanford, Florida, I had really been wanting to try my hand at some photos of the old piers at night. They just captivate me. Since our car was already crammed full of stuff for our daughters, I really had no room for a tripod. So I just had to wing it. Read more »

This is Nana. Nana is my wife’s grandmother, however, she feels much like my own. I can say a lot about her, all positive, as she is incredibly inspiring. Having gone through a hip replacement, she was still dancing at the reception at our wedding. Since then, she has battled with more surgeries and even fought breast cancer, having won that battle as well. One of the reasons she is so inspiring is not simply because of her victories, but how her head was held high during the fight. Read more »

As you may or may not know, my wife and I now have our second daughter. Which means what we want takes a back seat. So when my wife got a chance to get her hair done, I was really stoked to see the outcome. So much so I begged her to let me take a quick shot. Read more »

With the Canon 8800F that arrived this week, my plan was to get the negatives and start scanning rather than have the lab place any images on a CD or even print them. Below the fold is the result… Read more »
My First Time: First Shots with the Holga 120FN
Posted in Photography by dubMy first time out with the Holga was quite an experience. I really enjoyed the simplicity of the camera and perhaps allowed that simplicity to complicate the process in which I normally enjoyed. Read more »

Are You Everywhere?
Posted in Photography by dubAs many of you faithful readers can attest, I frequently submit work to JPG Magazine. One of these days I hope to find myself in complete shock when I hear that a photo or article has been published. Were you all aware of 8020’s additional project: Everywhere Magazine? Read more »
City Hall East: Photo Shoot
Posted in Photography by dubOn February 2nd, 2008, I participated in my first outing with a local UrbEx group. After learning the secret handshake allowing me access to the group, I made my way into Atlanta to meet the group. What I found was a very friendly, professional, and interesting collection of people who all appeared to be chomping at the bit to get their cameras inside of City Hall East. This is a place that is approached by photographers on a daily basis, yet none have been allowed save a few from the local media. Read more »
