Deep in the furthest mountain recesses, I conduct my secret missions. Void of curtains, plants, family photos, my bunker decorations consist of bullets and schematics. Under the security of night, I roam. Yet lately I feel eyes of the enemy, possibly scanning my location. I need to be more careful in maneuvering the countryside. Whole out on patrol, ensuring my sector has not been breached, I hear rustling. Subtle, but I certainly heard something. My training will not let me avoid it. Could the enemy have found me? 2008 was quite good for me in terms of my professional work, freelance work, and general hobbyist activities. I received a national level award and two state level awards at work. Personally, I received a national level award, four local awards, and have been included in a variety of press and publications. I have been blessed and look forward to seeing what 2009 holds. Most recently, my work was included in Hallowed Ground Magazine (Winter 2008, Vol. 9, No. 4), a publication created by Civil War Preservation & Trust. Something of which I am very proud of. I have received a lot of positive feedback from the first set of hi-res grunge textures that I released back in May. I like the idea of throwing out some large images for others to use without locking it down so there are a ton of silly rules. I always get frustrated when I locate a resource but run into an obstacle placed there by the creator. You surely have seen those who have found an old family photograph and paid to have it “restored” to appear newer, repair scratches, rips, and tears, and to even convert a black & white photograph into something with more color. How about the reverse process, taking something new and making it appear aged and worn? Taking a bright and vivid photo, we will use some basic techniques in Adobe Photoshop to do just that.
