Post-Processing Series #5 – Headshot Correction

Posted in How To, Post-Processing, Projects, Resources, Tutorials by dub | Tags: , , , ,

This tutorial covers something that at first, seemed quite simple to me.  When I was given the original photo to work with, I figured it was just a matter of correcting a minor blemish and then moving on.  But I actually got a little frustrated here because I could not fix it right off the bat.  In fact, I had closed Photoshop and planned to come up with some excuse about not being able to fix it.  Rather than admit defeat, my pride and ego took over, combined with stubbornness, and the result was a corrected photo. New Flickr Group, 5 New Textures

Posted in Art News, Downloads, General Banter, Happenings, Resources by dub | Tags: , , , ,

One thing I have always enjoyed was seeing what people do with the resources that I put out there for them to use.  Be it textures, actions, frames, brushes, etc., it is inspiring to see how they get used.  To give everyone a more central place to share their creations, I created a group on Flickr: Dubtastic’s Textures & Frames. If have used any of my resources, and have not already done so, go drop them into the group pool.  I would love to see what you have come up with.  Also, to celebrate the group, I am releasing 5 new hi-res grunge textures for free. Download them after the jump. Read more »

As I have found with a lot of the images I post that contain any type of explanation, many ask for detailed step by step instructions.  So with this post-processing series I will be doing my best to include the play by play on how I achieved the final effect. This image, used with permission, was taken of a local Special Response Team (SRT) and I processed it to give it a more dramatic effect.  This tutorial is a bit lengthy so hang in there. Read more »
