OK, so I am going to cheat a little with this tutorial. I did not take this photo for the purposes of writing something up about it. How many times have you put something before a client that you really thought out and they passed right over, yet they rave about something you took in passing? So this tutorial covers some basic and quick steps you can take to give a quick portrait a little more pop. Read more »

Free Download: Quick Sharpener

I was out playing with the camera today, trying to snag some shots of the leaves. Not that it would be difficult, considering my yard is being overtaken by them. After taking a few quick shots, I brought them into Photoshop. I wanted to enhance the image just a notch with additional sharpness, and since it was something that I could use again elsewhere, I thought others might as well. Read more »

Noticing a jump in traffic on a particular image on my Flickr account, I found that one of the HDR images I created made it onto such a list. At first I was excited, until I started reading some of the comments.
Photomerge in Photoshop CS3

Adobe Photoshop CS3 offers a nice array of improvements. I cannot remember the exact upgrade (I want to say from v6 to v7) but there have been times when upgrading to the newest version just didn’t seem worth the time or money. CS3 is different, and the panoramic merge improvements are just one of many examples.

I have received a lot of positive feedback from the first set of hi-res grunge textures that I released back in May. I like the idea of throwing out some large images for others to use without locking it down so there are a ton of silly rules. I always get frustrated when I locate a resource but run into an obstacle placed there by the creator. So without further delay, here are ten more hi-res grunge images suitable for photomanipulations. Read more »
